After 20 years in the Air Force, J.P. Gipson joined Maxwell in 2020 as a superintendent. Growing up in a military family, J.P. moved all over the country as a kid and finally settled here in Tennessee and began working at Maxwell Roofing. Though he had no previous construction experience, his experience as a leader in the military has served him well in his new position.
Current Role
As a superintendent, J.P. Gipson leads crews on job sites to make sure that each job is progressing on schedule and on budget. He also ensures that everyone on a job site is adhering to safety protocols. He often attends meetings with clients to report on each project or help new clients through the bidding process. Though he works with certain crews more often, J.P. likes that he interacts with everyone in the company.
“Maxwell is a relatively small company, so I feel like everyone is part of the bigger team,” he says.
Why Maxwell Stands Out
Maxwell reached out to J.P. due to his past leadership experience in the Air Force. Because he had no previous work in construction, J.P. asked around about Maxwell and only heard good things about the company’s reputation.
“Maxwell has been in business for a long time and has a reputation for doing good quality work,” he says.
Personal
When he isn’t at work, J.P. enjoys shooting. He considers himself both a gun and a car enthusiast. He lives with his wife, three dogs, and two cats. Their five children are all grown up and out of the house. He hopes to continue traveling and exploring the world in the years to come.
