Service Estimator

Job Description

As a valuable member of the Service Team, the Service Estimator is responsible for the development of project scope, as well as the management of related elements throughout a project. This position requires a cross-functional skill set to oversee the successful completion of each commercial roofing project from beginning to end.


The Service Estimator is responsible for the following:

  • Develop project scope to meet customer needs, expectations, and industry standards
  • Prepare and communicate accurate estimates by interpreting drawings and other bid documents, as well as performing take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials
  • Make site visits to collect bidding information as required
  • Review proposals and submit project bids in accordance with bidding procedures
  • Create work orders for the Service Team
  • Coordinate project activities for successful completion of all assigned projects
  • Manage multiple projects and the corresponding tasks associated with them

Job requirements:

  • High sense of integrity
  • Ability to inspect roofs
  • Experience in commercial roofing
  • Ability to exhibit a sense of urgency in all that you do
  • Detailed understanding of commercial roofing system design and installation, code compliance, and manufacturer requirements
  • Ability to clearly explain obstacles and circumstances
  • Experience reviewing engineering/structural drawings and specs, monitoring job progress, and ensuring compliance
  • High level of personal drive and responsibility
  • Decisive and a good listener
  • Strong computer and database skills
